How do I sign up for volunteer needs?
- Go to the left hand side of your dashboard.
- Click volunteer needs
- Find an opportunity that interests you. Then click, view details.
- Submit volunteer need response. If the need offers specific shifts, select the shift you plan to attend only. If the need does not have specific shifts, you will be responding to the entire need description. See the photos below for reference:
How do I track my hours? You have two options shown below:
First option:
- Click on the volunteer hours box that shows the time clock icon
- Click on add hours
- Select the volunteer need your hours are associated with along with the time, date, and how many hours you volunteer.
- Select submit hours
- Once agency has approved hours you should see them appear on your dashboard
- If your hours are not associated with a need or agency on Axe of Service please select No and then input the non-profit name and email of the person who can verify the volunteer hours you completed!
Second option:
- Click on your initials at the top right-hand corner of your dashboard
- Select track hours
- Click on add hours
- Select the volunteer need your hours are associated with, along with the time, date, and how many hours your volunteered for.
- If your hours are not associated with a need or agency on Axe of Service please select No and then input the non-profit name and email of the person who can verify the volunteer hours you completed!
Important Note: The difference between individual and volunteer need hours!
Individual hours are meant to record volunteer hours that were done with a non-profit or government organization that is NOT a partner agency on Axe of Service. Therefore, these hours cannot be attributed to an agency on Axe. They are free-floating hours.
Volunteer need hours are meant to record hours completed for a volunteer need that a partner agency on Axe of Service posted. These hours will be affiliated with the organization who posted the volunteer opportunity. Therefore, a volunteer MUST first respond to a need in order to add hours to it. This is vital that you add hours that are attached to a need cause if they are not, you will just be given the option to add the hours as individual hours (free floating hours that agencies don’t get credit for), which means we cannot pull reports on how many hours volunteers are doing for an agency or any other important data. So pretty please respond to a need directly on Axe of Service to volunteer and subsequently log your hours!
How do I respond to a need as a team?
- First, select the volunteer need your group would like to sign up for.
- If the agency permitted team responses you should see a button that says respond as team.
- Click on the respond as team button
- From there you will create a team name and will be asked to input the names and emails of the other team members. If you have already created a team you will have the option to use your previous team and add members if you would like.
- Click submit response
Download Volunteer Resume:
- Click view your full volunteer resume at the bottom-hand corner of your dashboard
- Click volunteer resume
- Select the time frame you want the resume to capture
- Ex: 5 months or two years of volunteer activity
- Press Go and it will download a PDF to your computer
