Volunteer Needs From: Axe of Service

Help prepare the courtyard for the Riordan Mansion Tea Party. Volunteers will assist with setting up canopies, tables, and chairs, and transporting boxes of china, decorations, and other event supplies. This role requires lifting and carrying heavy items and working outdoors.

Help prepare the tea service by setting tables with china, silverware, napkins, and decorations. Volunteers will also assist with hanging shade curtains and making sure the courtyard is ready before guests arrive. Attention to detail is appreciated.

Assist with preparing and organizing food for the tea party. Duties include arranging food trays, setting up the serving area, and helping ensure everything is ready before service begins. A Food Handler Card is recommended.

Serve food and assist guests during the tea party. Volunteers should wear a white shirt with black pants or a black skirt. A friendly, welcoming attitude is appreciated. A Food Handler Card is recommended.

Help return the courtyard to its normal condition after the event. Volunteers will hand wash china, carefully pack fragile items, carry boxes and supplies, fold and store tables and chairs, and take down canopies. This position requires lifting and carrying heavy items.

Be a part of historic preservation by taking care of Riordan Mansion's grounds. You may be asked to rake pine needles, pickup sticks and rocks, dispose of trash, eliminate evasive plant species in our gardens, and/or shovel snow.
