Volunteer Needs From: Axe of Service

Do you love music? Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra (FSO) is celebrating its 76th season, and we need you to help make our April community concert a success!

The Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra is looking for assistance in distributing flyers for our upcoming April Light Upbound concert.

We will have flyers of various sizes available for pickup at the downtown FSO office Monday, March 30th, 1:30pm-4:30pm. We’d love to have them distributed as early as that day, or no later than Friday, April 3rd. 

A list of our usual distribution locations can be found below. If you’re available to help, please reply to this email with your preferred locations or area, and I will provide further distribution instructions.

Your support means a great deal in making these events a success—thank you in advance!

As a thank you, volunteers who assist with hanging flyers in a full area will receive one complimentary ticket to the performance.

Volunteers will assist with event setup, parking support, registration assistance, photo booth assistance(9-12)and materials distribution for the Axe of Service event. Volunteers will help ensure smooth arrival, setup, and check-in for attendees. State Forty-Eight t-shirt for all volunteers

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity is looking for volunteers to help at the upcoming Undergraduate Symposium on April 24th at the High-Country Conference Center.  Come volunteer as an Oral Presentation Moderator!Oral Presentation Moderator will do the following:
- Introduce and organize speakers, ensuring all are in attendance
- Keep speakers and any questions on schedule
- Notify HCCC staff of any AV equipment problems
- Note presenters that did not show

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity is looking for volunteers to help at the upcoming Undergraduate Symposium on April 24th at the High-Country Conference Center.  Come volunteer for Setup and breakdown!

Set-up/Break-down Support
- Assisting OURCA staff in general set up of presentation boards, flags, directional maps, and other items as needed or asked by staff
- Organizing the presentation area and surrounding spaces to fit the needs of Symposium presenters and visitors
- Being available to switch tasks quickly due to changing needs and remaining flexible when possible
- Breaking down the following:
       - Flags
       - Directional maps
       - Easels
       - Collecting and organizing smaller items like board numbers, general office supplies, other signs and anything belonging to the OURCA office

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity is looking for volunteers to help at the upcoming Undergraduate Symposium on April 24th at the High-Country Conference Center.  Come volunteer to be a table greeter!

Welcome Table Greeters -  You will greet people who approach the welcome table and answer general questions including, but not limited to: 

- Where a specific presentation may be taking place;

-How to find a location within the High-Country Conference Center, the Drury, and/or the 1899 Ballroom 

-Explaining where presenters can find their presentation area, where reviewers can find the reviewer area, where support staff are needed etc. 

-How long the Symposium will be going on

-Where/when presentations from specific colleges will be taking place 

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity is looking for NAU Staff and Faculty volunteers to help at the upcoming Undergraduate Symposium on April 24th at the High-Country Conference Center.  Come volunteer as a Staff, Faculty, or Grad Student Presentation Reviewer!Note: Volunteers must indicate their;Preferred number of projects to review (up to 15)Preferred field of research to review, if applicable. 

Reviewers:- Role: A reviewer provides guidance, expertise, encouragement, and motivation to student research presenters. We ask reviewers to provide constructive feedback on student presentations and positive reinforcement so that students can get clear guidance on their presentation communication skills to validate and motivate them to persist in their research, scholarly, or creative path. No research experience or expertise required! Reviewers provide feedback on a student's presentation skills.

The Foster Alliance provides jewelry and accessories both in our Essential Needs program and in Birthday Dreams bags for children in foster care. Handmade beaded friendship bracelets are a great way for children to feel loved/special and to express themselves. Volunteers must provide the materials to make the bracelets. Please read and follow instructions carefully! Once you have competed items, please bring them to SBS West Rm. 6 on NAU campus.
