FCCP is looking for an outgoing individual to join our mission with assisting in Fundraising/Sponsorship assistance in 2024/2025. Tasks will include reaching out to local businesses to gain sponsors for various projects and/or events. Time commitment and hours can be flexible as any help is appreciated!

The Foster Alliance provides jewelry and accessories both in our Essential Needs program and in Birthday Dreams bags for children in foster care. Handmade beaded friendship bracelets are a great way for children to feel loved/special and to express themselves. Volunteers must provide the materials to make the bracelets. Please read and follow instructions carefully! Once you have competed items, please bring them to SBS West Rm. 6 on NAU campus.

The Foster Care Review Board is a virtual based program that meets monthly via Zoom, providing a convenient and accessible way for volunteers to collaborate, review cases, and make impactful decisions from the comfort of their own homes. New Board Member training and ongoing annual training is provided for this volunteer position. Volunteers are appointed by the presiding judge to service at least a one-to-three-year term.

In search of individuals that can assist in advocating and retrieving donations that can be used at our annual event, The Patriot Tour. All money raised will go back to Arizona veterans and their families in need. This role is open to anyone with interest. Items can be collected throughout the state and is not exclusive to Flagstaff or Northern Arizona.

I am available to discuss items needed and provide documentation in support of our non-profit that can be supplied to businesses.

Habitat for Humanity is looking for volunteers to accept, move and organize Habitat ReStore donations at our store front.

Hope receives donations of baby items which are then passed onto our clients.  We are in need of volunteers to sort through the donations and restock our baby boutique.

A Tynkertopia Special Events Volunteer assists with organizing and executing interactive STEAM activities at community events such as Earth Day, Art in the Park, Festival of Science, and Astronomy Night. They engage with participants, provide support for event logistics, and help ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for attendees of all ages. Volunteers also contribute to creating a fun, educational atmosphere that promotes curiosity and hands-on learning.

Volunteers at Tynkertopia assist with a variety of tasks, including supporting hands-on STEAM learning activities, guiding participants through creative projects, and helping maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment. They play an essential role in fostering curiosity and collaboration, while also supporting the staff in creating a positive and engaging experience for all visitors. A fingerprint clearance card is required.

We need help optimizing social media to get the word out about our shows, including our “home”: Irish Night@Charly’s. This weekly event, Thursdays 7-9:30pm, celebrates cultural exchange through music, as we recreate traditions of music, dance, and community, and invite audience members to participate and share the richness of their own backgrounds. This involves people across cultures and ages (from ages 7-77 is what we’ve seen) dancing together and listening to original music blending Celtic and Latin traditions. 

We believe there would be a much larger turnout if we could optimize social media presence and brainstorm other ways to inform people that this exists. People love the event when they do find out about it, but most are just by chance and are out of towners. We'd like to cultivate a regular local following. We are also interested in help finding musicians for our guest musician program at this same show, which brings in talent from various traditions.

We have Facebook, Instagram, and a YouTube channel, but we’re not sure how to increase impact of these resources and expand our presence. 

Flyers and posting on calendars/ updating posts would be great in addition to social media spreading, as would taking and posting video and photos of our shows, though different volunteers could do different tasks.

We believe you can come up with ideas that would make this show take off!

Filming and taking photos during Wild World Irish Fiddle community dance and live music events. This would also help greatly with getting the word out! Filming directly to our Instagram would be powerful. Just having documentation of what we do is always extremely helpful, and it’ll keep our YouTube channel up to date.

We are playing for the Celtic Festival July 19-20 and would love help then, or at a future concert as well as our regular show. Volunteers can do this on a one-off or more frequent basis and do not need equipment or experience, just motivation and interest.  

Seeking new opportunities for what we do. Liaising with facilities for elderly, disabled, and other vulnerable populations and seeking new partnerships with them would expand our outreach. Finding all kinds of new venues for concerts, festival presences, and workshops would further our mission of cross-cultural understanding and community enjoyment through music and dance.

Concretely, a volunteer team would identify opportunities, develop/improve marketing materials, and reach out to venues. We envision a team that works well together and has complementary skill sets.

Research for the Wild West Fiddle Project. We found that there is a lack of research on music and dance traditions from present-day Arizona and the Colorado Plateau, though we know these were a vibrant part of life. We seek to find out as much as we can about this, including what tunes were played and dances danced, and how different cultural traditions combined. We’d like to recreate these through interactive concerts, workshops, and dances. All aspects and methods of research and involvement around this topic are welcome!

Concretely speaking, volunteers might comb through archives, locate recordings and sheet music, find and talk with elders, discover immigrant and Native past with regard to music and dance, and interact with professors, historians, and history museum employees, as well as identifying new ways to do such research.

There are two Advisory Board openings: one for legal and one for financial advice. The goal is for our new organization to grow on a solid foundation of continued fiscal and administrative health through ongoing support in navigating administrative challenges regarding fiscal and organizational possibilities and protocols. 

Concretely speaking, we are seeking qualified and/or experienced legal and financial people who believe in what we are doing and have a passion for service or just want to give back to the community through filling in gaps in what we know and can do. This includes going over our finances with us and our administrative paperwork to make sure we are doing everything correctly and letting us know what we might need to do better and what options could help us grow.

The NACA Pathways Youth Program is a substance use prevention program tailored for Native American youth and their families, in the Flagstaff community, who can benefit from a supportive and nurturing environment. We provide information and education on developing and maintaining healthy lifestyles to youth and their families. The program is designed to be culturally and age appropriate. Pathways offers afterschool and some weekend activities that promote self-esteem, educational enrichment, physical fitness, traditional practices, and cultural values, to children in grades 1st through sixth, and their families.

At NACA, we provide our patients with an array of medical services, from pediatrics to adult and women’s health, mental health services and programs, economic development programs, and community outreach projects. Administrative Assistance volunteers can help with administrative tasks that occur in each of NACA's programs. For example, document submissions, file organizing, appointment scheduling, etc.

FOSTER GRANDPARENT PROGRAM

The Summit High School Ravens are seeking passionate, engaging and enthusiastic volunteers!

We would love volunteers ASAP to start promoting this event via flyers and social media! We seek to build a dynamic logistics team to see this festival through from start to finish, though if people just want to do a shift here and there, that's okay too. 

For the day of the festival, Oct. 25, we will need people all day to welcome out-of-town musicians, greet festival-goers, and overall keep things running smoothly. This is in partnership with The Literacy Center and is largely a fundraiser to support their and Wild Steps' programs.

This festival brings together musicians who venture deeply into the roots of a tradition to the place where their deep roots intertwine with the deep roots from other traditions; community-based entertainment and education is at the core, as each act will show dance steps from their cultures, answer questions, lead workshops, and all performers may jam together on stage at the end.

High Country Humane is looking for some extra help in providing our wonderful dogs some extra enrichment. We oftentimes have 80+ dogs onsite, and only limited staff to provide a healthy, safe, and enriching environment for these dogs. Some of our long-timers or high energy breeds desperately need more than what we can give, so this is your opportunity to help give our dogs a much needed break from the stressful surroundings of a shelter environment!

To take one of our dogs on a hike, you do not need to complete volunteer orientation or undergo any training. It is as simple as coming to the shelter, telling front desk you would like to take a dog on a hike, signing out the dog, and then having a great time walking, cuddling, and exploring with the dog! It is really up to you where you go with the dog once you are offsite, all we ask is that you keep the dog on a leash at all times unless inside of a controlled environment such as your house. If you plan on going to a more populated area or going inside of dog-friendly stores, make sure to communicate that with dog team staff when discussing what dog you will be taking!

Volunteers will assist with operating check in for individuals and handing out resources.
