Volunteer Needs From: Axe of Service

Help us fight hunger and promote healthy eating across our community! During Produce Box Packing, volunteers gather to sort, organize, and pack fresh fruits and vegetables into boxes for families and individuals in need. Working together in a supportive, team-driven environment, you’ll ensure each box is packed with care and meets quality guidelines.

This event is hands-on and active—perfect for anyone who wants to make a direct, positive impact. Whether you’re an experienced volunteer or new to our programs, your efforts help deliver nutritious food to tables all over Flagstaff.

Help FFFC feed our neighbors in Flagstaff at our outdoor drive-thru Family Food Box distribution. With the help of volunteers, we are able to give out groceries to over 200 families per day! Volunteer roles include: loading food into cars, controlling traffic, packing food into boxes, and writing down client information. Our volunteer events are great for team building, families, individuals, & students! Age requirement: 12 years with an adult and 16 without an adult. Safety: Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes & weather-appropriate clothing. Volunteers that do not meet the dress code requirements will be asked to leave. Parking: Please park either alongside the N side of the road or in the back parking lot. Volunteers can enter through the N. side of the building.

Help FFFC prepare healthy meals at our kitchen! Volunteers help with washing and chopping vegetables, preparing salads, & making sandwiches.

Join us every Wednesday from 9:45 am to 12:00 pm (Arizona Mountain Time) at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Leupp Schools Rd, 40 miles east of Flagstaff in Leupp, AZ 86035, as we provide fresh food and essential groceries to families and individuals in the Leupp community. Volunteers help set up and organize distribution tables, greet guests, hand out produce and pantry staples, and ensure everyone feels welcome and supported.

This community-focused event is hands-on and meaningful—ideal for anyone who wants to make a real difference and connect with neighbors in need. Whether you’re arranging supplies, distributing food, or offering a friendly greeting, your efforts help put nutritious meals on the tables of those who need them most.

The Flagstaff Family Food Center’s kitchen events provide hot, nutritious meals to anyone in need, no questions asked. These community meals are served daily in a welcoming, safe environment where volunteers and staff work together to prepare, serve, and clean up. The kitchen is a hub of compassion and connection, offering not just food but also dignity and support to those experiencing hardship. Through these efforts, the center helps fight hunger and build community one meal at a time.
