The International Raptor & Falconry Center (IRFC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raptor conservation, falconry culture, environmental education, and scientific research. Founded by Dr. Michele Losee, a Master Falconer and PhD Raptor Ecologist with over 20 years of experience, IRFC blends centuries-old falconry traditions with modern science and animal welfare standards. We serve as a bridge between human culture and the natural world, using raptors as powerful ambassadors for conservation, education, and community engagement. Our Purpose At IRFC, we believe raptors are more than symbols of power and freedom — they are indicators of ecosystem health and keys to understanding the natural world. We educate through hands-on, live-raptor programs for schools, universities, and communities. Inspire with unforgettable public experiences and encounters that foster connection, respect, and awe. Conserve by advancing raptor care, training, and husbandry practices that meet the highest ethical and scientific standards. What Makes IRFC Different Unlike many wildlife or education programs, IRFC is rooted in both ancient falconry culture and cutting-edge science. We uphold the tradition of falconers as the first raptor conservationists while applying modern research, data, and training to every aspect of our work. There is no degree program for falconry or professional raptor education. IRFC fills this gap by providing rare mentorship and training opportunities for those pursuing careers in wildlife biology, conservation education, or animal management. We provide above-industry-standard animal care and emphasize ethical, research-driven practices over entertainment-driven models. IRFC operates as a community resource, serving rural and urban areas alike with STEM education, public events, and conservation outreach.

What We Do Educational Programs: Bringing live raptors into schools, universities, and community spaces to provide science-based, hands-on learning aligned with conservation and STEM education. Public Experiences: Offering unique opportunities for the public to see and interact with raptors up close, from falconry demonstrations to meet-and-greets. Events & Outreach: Hosting conservation events, workshops, film festivals, and community programs that highlight the role of raptors in ecosystems and human culture. Raptor Care & Training: Maintaining a professional team of eagles, hawks, falcons, owls, and vultures, cared for at the highest welfare standards and trained for education and demonstration.
