Join NAU staff members and the City of Flagstaff's PROSE Department to remove invasive weeds and trash from the McMillan Mesa Natural Area. PROSE staff will instruct volunteers on identifying and removing invasive plants.
We'll meet by the buffalo at Buffalo Park, and walk over the footbridge and along the FUTS (Flagstaff Urban Trail System). Wear sturdy shoes, long pants, and a sunhat, and bring sunscreen, water, snacks if you need them, and work gloves if you have them, but we'll have extras. We will supply trash pickers, trash bags, weed shovels, and weed bags.

McMillan Mesa is a 300-acre protected natural area and one of the last remaining native grasslands within city limits, providing important habitat for elk, deer, and other wildlife. McMillan Mesa is also rich in cultural and historic significance, including remnants of the historic Beale Wagon Road. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the San Francisco Peak and Mt. Elden.
