We will be removing invasive thistles, spreading and moving piles of bark from old tree thinning projects, and spreading native seed. This will discourage future growth of invasive plants and encourage native plants to grow. We will be clipping and digging out thistles; raking and moving bark by wheelbarrow; and spreading native grass/flower seed.
Wear sturdy shoes, long pants and long sleeves, and a sunhat. Bring water and work gloves, but we’ll have extras. If you have a road/stone rake, we could use some extras!
Where: Observatory Mesa Natural Area. We will meet at Thorpe Park by the bathrooms, and shuttle volunteers up to the site. 788 N Thorpe Road, Flagstaff.
